Buenos Dias desde Santa Fe!

We are fully moved in to our lovely adobe house. Northern New Mexico is a very special place with incredible, huge skies and amazing sunsets. I am really joyful at being back in a city that will always be considered “home” to me no matter where I travel or live, and whose tranquility and beauty are so very inspirational to all forms of spiritual and creative work. If you would like a more detailed description of my initial observations on life now in the USA, please read Alan’s American Travel Diary. In addition to my regular offerings of two articles that relate to this issue’s sign and this month’s forecast in Celestial Happenings, there are a few things I would like to bring to your attention. These are found on the front page of the email Newsletter. Your suggestions and comments are always welcome just send me a Facebook message or an email.

Celestial Happenings

May 21 - June 20, 2011

printable version

Please note: all dates and times are in GMT so please adjust accordingly for your own local time zone.

May 21: Sun enters Gemini at 9:22 AM; Sun square Neptune at 0 Gemini/Pisces.

Quite a fuzzy entrance into the Celestial Twins! There is a likelihood of miscommunications in the world as false idealism gets in the way of logical progress. Should you have 0-1 degree of planets or positions in the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, or Pisces), be forewarned of a lack of clarity relative to the position or planet so indicated.

May 21: Mercury, Venus, and Mars trine Pluto at 7 Capricorn.

There is a great possibility of huge financial movements on the world markets. This will likely focus on foreign currency exchanges, commodities, and real estate. If you have 6-8 degrees of Taurus, Virgo, or Capricorn prominent in your chart, then you just may find some positive movement in your own finances.

May 21 through May 30: Venus and Mars travel very closely together in Taurus.

People with 6 to 18 degrees of the earthy signs featured in their charts are in for some positive financial or other practical benefits during one or more days during this period. As always, everything depends on exactly where this conjunction falls in your natal map in terms of the specifics of what I am writing. It is safe to say that the world financial markets will be very active in the areas mentioned in the paragraph above. Those of you who have these planets in relationship to your Second House will benefit financially through your own resources. If the connection is with your Seventh House, such benefits come through partnerships. The 22nd to the 26th look particularly auspicious for those with 9 to 12 degrees of the earthy signs prominent.

May 24-25: Sun is sextile Uranus at 3-4 degrees of Gemini/Aries—Important message here for lots of people, so please read.

Positive Sun/Uranus aspects like this one are particular favorites of mine, especially in these two signs. A bit of personal prejudice here as I have the Sun in Aries sextile to Uranus in Gemini in my natal map. Positive Sun/Uranus contacts create wonderful opportunities to advance your personal path of individuation. This mean that should this transiting sextile (and more importantly the current position of Uranus) fall into an important place in your horoscope, you will be very impelled to carve new creative pathways in your life. The rebel in you emerges and there is a great restlessness about the status quo in that area of your life indicated by the house positions involved in this transit. So look carefully for where you have 3-4 degrees of the fire signs as well as these degrees in the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn).

People with natal cardinal placements at from about 3 to about 8 degrees of their respective signs are really getting a huge kick in your earthly butt from a huge and heavy “Cosmic Boot” these days. This “heavenly treatment” will continue for another couple of years. The message is: “Transform and Create something wonderful or Retire to Shady Pines and eat comfort food for the rest of the incarnation.” Either way, it will not be particularly easy but the potential rewards are enormous in terms of your personal evolution.

May 21 to June 20 (and beyond): Saturn is stationed at 10 degrees of Libra.

If 9 to 11 degrees of Libra are important in your chart, then you will be asked in no uncertain terms to gage the reality of the structures and perimeters of the planet or position so concerned. If the planet happens to be Venus, for example then such a “reality check” will definitely fall into the realm of your relationships. If it were Mercury, then you are being asked to make sure that the way you are communicating with others (especially partners) is revealing of your truth in is precision and focus. It may also be a good time for some mental discipline such as taking on some important study program, perhaps in public relations. If 9 to 11 degrees of Cancer, Capricorn, or Aries, then the challenge to effectuate the creation (or recognition) of such boundaries will come with greater complications. Should 9 to 11 of planets or positions be in Gemini or Aquarius in the natal map, then you are most fortunate during this period as it will allow you to “get serious and produce” in ways that will be easy and rewarding for you relative to the nature of the positions so indicated by this transit.

June 1: New Moon (Solar eclipse) at 11.02 Gemini at 09:04 PM.

Solar eclipses may only happen at the New Moon. In effect, you can say that “eclipses end one set of circumstances and begin another.” I therefore do not see them as harbingers of doom and gloom (unless you are fearful or resistant to changes, which really means that you should move to live on another planet because the Earth does quake—and quakes often!). I see eclipses rather as opportunities to free oneself from the past (in terms of lunar eclipses) and open oneself up to those shifts in form that make life interesting. Remember that as things open, they reveal their true nature, which is great unless you really do not want to see, in which case you would do well not to study astrology. Solar eclipses point to these major shifts and changes in our lives and if properly interpreted, may easily point the way to our greater truth and after the moment of crisis that always accompanies loss, may open a path to our real direction in life. The Sun is very much involved with the “source engine” of our creative vitality.

It’s eclipse will show us where the renewal of that vitality may come from, but it will require an important change and a release in the house where it falls in your natal chart. Look for clarification within 87 days of its occurrence.

June 2 to 21: Mercury is moving direct at a very rapid rate.

I was at a small dinner party the other night and the question came up: “Is time moving more quickly these days.” Well I do not propose to have a definitive answer to that very interesting question but I can say that time may seem to be moving more quickly during this period, especially from June 2 to 15 when Mercury is in its own sign, Gemini. Some people may then experience communications as if they were emanating from those Disney chipmunk characters who speak with their voices high on helium gas and speeded up a couple of hundred percent. When on the 16th Mercury moves into Cancer, it will be challenging for a lot of us to integrate the rapidity of changing thoughts as they relate to the subtleties of our emotions. In other words, we just may be asking ourselves and others: “How do I/you feel?” and find that such thoughts and feelings are coming in so rapidly that it may be hard to process our answers.

June 2: Mercury square Neptune at 0 Gemini/Pisces.

Mercury moves into Gemini today and makes a big puddle of confusion upon entering its own door. If you have planets at 0 degrees of the mutable signs, do yourself a favor and don’t answer the phone, use your voice mail instead.

June 4: Jupiter enters Taurus, making a sextile to Neptune at 0 Taurus/Pisces; sextile effects continue through around June 11th; Mercury sextile Uranus at 3 Gemini/Aries.

The entry of Jupiter into Taurus bodes well for all earth sign from 0 to 10 degrees of these signs from now until March of 2012. This is especially true for 0-1 degree from June 4-14, and November 25, 2011 to January 24, 2012. 9-10 degrees of the earthy signs will be especially blessed from August 1 to September 27, 2011, and from March 11-20, 2012. Expect a prospering celestial hand during these dates to positions within these degree perimeters.

The Jupiter/Neptune sextile is rather innocuous, indicating pleasant aspirations, religious or spiritual activities (nowadays religious and spiritual can be quite different with the former being quite violent and the latter quite illusionary, but the sextile at least gives a positive and peaceful orientation).

Mercury sextile Uranus is another aspect combination that I like a lot as it allows for the fusion of the intellect with the intuitive, making for very interesting perceptions and conversations.

June 7: Mercury trines Saturn at 10 Gemini/Libra.

As my German-speaking friends like to say: “Alles ist in Ordnung.” Everything is in order. This is a wonderful aspect to put all our writing and speaking commitments in order. A great day to catch up on emails and a fine day to send kind messages to parents, older people, and superiors.

June 9: Venus enters Gemini at 02:24 PM.

Both Mercury and Venus will be in the sign of the Celestial Twins from now until June 16th. This is therefore a great time to write “love notes” and to have friendly conversations with those close at hand (or within easy reach of a computer!). If other indications in your map support it, this can also be a lovely time to take a short journey with a lover or a cherished sister or brother.

June 12: Sun conjunct Mercury at 21 Gemini.

This will be one hellova busy day at the ranch or office! Look to see where 21 Gemini falls in your chart and you will see just where such business will take place in your life.

June 13-14: Sun and Mercury conjoin the Southern Lunar Node at 23 Gemini.

World conferences on religion, education, publishing, and travel will likely have mixed, confused, and generally poor results. This is not a good pair of days to have conferences with your kids’ teachers, for example or with your editor or travel agent. Miscommunication may easily reign at the area in your chart where 23 Gemini/Sagittarius falls.

June 15: Full Moon (and total lunar eclipse) at 24.23 Gemini/Sagittarius at 08:15 PM.

The closer the Sun or Moon are to the lunar nodes, the more total is an eclipse. This lunar eclipse is very powerful as it is within 1 degree of exactitude to these nodes. Eclipses of the Moon point to distinct changes of form that especially relate to homes, family, and one’s general emotional state. Please use an orb of exactitude of +/- 5 degrees to a planet or point in your natal chart to see if it is directly affecting you, and be aware that the conjunction and opposition are the most meaningful aspects relative to manifestations coming as a result of eclipses. Like solar eclipses, such changes usually come about with an 87 day period.

June 16: Mercury enters Cancer at 07:10 PM and makes a trine to Neptune at 0 degrees Cancer/Pisces.

Please see paragraph under June 2-21 heading. The trine between Mercury and Neptune leads to creative imagination and strong psychic impressions.

June 17-18: Venus is trine Saturn at 10 degrees Gemini/Libra.

This time I will quote my Libran German friends: Alles ist in liebevoller Ordnung. Everything is in loving order. This is a great aspect to really understand the nature of mutual responsibilities in personal relationships. It is a super time to plan for the future with either your lover or business partner. Of course this is a very specific message to people who have 9 to 11 degrees of the air signs very prominent in their charts (and it is pretty good for Leo placements at these degrees as well). For everyone else, the energy of this aspect is “in the air” so to speak.

June 18: Mercury square Uranus at 4 Cancer/Aries.

Should this degree be important in your chart in any of the cardinal signs, this may not be the best day for travel nor for communications in general. In general, it points to trying to do too many things at the same time as well as the struggle between new concepts trying to fit into old and unusable thought patterns.

June 19: Mercury in opposition to Pluto at 6 degrees Cancer/Capricorn.

The good news is that this aspect is great for research and for the uncovering of secrets. The bad news is that you may not like what you discover!
