Whew! The current Pluto/Uranus square is certainly upon us, and its chaos was augmented in the middle of August by Mars opposing Pluto and making a T-square with Uranus in the middle of the month (near economic collapse of the USA and riots in the UK among other nasty events). I made reference to these possibilities in two places: the Leo edition of As Above, So Below (which you can find in the Newsletter archives here), and in an article I wrote specifically about this major square that I have included in this month’s Newsletter for your perusal.

Although only the Olympian gods and goddesses know for sure what is going to take place during this astrological month, my studies of their celestial movements for this period lead me to believe that the world will be a less stressful place in the next 30 days than it has been in recent weeks. But let’s be sure of one thing—there will be a continuous arena of social and economic strife through the early part of 2015. This is the result of the conflicts between the incoming new collective archetypes of innovation and change (Uranus in Aries) and the established political and materially powerful corporate structures (Pluto in Capricorn). Continue to buckle up, dear friends, as the ride is a long and very bumpy one!

So the question is to what do we fasten our buckle? There are earthquakes, deep social unrest, and great financial unsettledness. As most of us during these times are still profoundly concerned with finding our “soul-mate,” all we have to do is shift our emphasis a bit and mate with our Soul. This is another way of quoting the Buddha when He teaches us to “take refuge in the Dharma.” In other words: Buckle up to your Spiritual Path. We have some wonderful opportunities now to create a stronger magnetic and conscious link to that which is immortal, stable, and permanent. I mean in times such as these when the illusions of the material plane waver, melt, and dissolve right before us (Hello Neptune in Pisces!), where else is there to go? Sure you can put your life savings into a few ounces of gold (remember when gold was $35 an ounce and silver a mere $3? I do and that was not too long ago) or one or two good diamonds, but then what? The truth is that for the majority of us, the only safety we have resides in a heart that is connected to the Crown Chakra that is connected to the Soul that is connected to “the Jewel in the Lotus.” Om mani padme hum! as we say in the Old Country. That is your formula for success. Invest in it, and you will definitely be wealthy.

Here is your list of constants for the month of the Virgin (it is necessary to know your chart for this portion of these writings and use an orb of a degree or two):

1. Pluto at 4 degrees of Capricorn. You know the drill—“Transmute or Die!” It is that simple. Whatever Pluto is touching in your natal chart has to be regenerated. Now this can be from good to better, but the status quo will have to go.
2. Neptune at 28 and 29 degrees of Aquarius. In two words: “Melt down!” Wherever Poseidon is placing its trident in your chart, is an area of your life that is dissolving. If it is on your Ascendant, well it was time for a complete overhaul of your personality anyway! Murky waters however can evaporate, opening our eyes to a greater truth.
3. Uranus at 2 and 3 of Aries. My “Home Boy” and personal planetary favorite (especially when he connects positively with Jupiter and brings all sorts of exciting and awakening experiences into our lives). You will be challenged to open a new path in the area of the natal chart where the “Belly Roller” hits your map. (“Belly Roller” because he is the only planet in the solar system that revolves on his equator and not upon a vertical axis.)
4. Jupiter at 8 to 10 of Taurus. If you are fortunate enough to have the earthy signs well tenanted in their first decanate (especially Virgo!), Jupiter is blessing you from June 5, 2011 to the middle of March, 2012).
5. Uranus square Pluto (within an orb of +/- 2 degrees) at 3 to 5 degrees of Aries/Capricorn respectively. Please see earlier comments and refer to the article included in this month’s issue of As Above, So Below.

August 23: The Sun enters Virgo at 11:22am

August 23-27: The Sun and Venus travel in close proximity.

Although not technically conjunct, the Sun and Venus are within a degree or two of exactitude in the first 5 degrees of Virgo during this time. If you have some important planets or placements in early Taurus, Virgo, or Capricorn, these days could be very pleasant for you especially where relationships at work are concerned and for your finances in general. This will be especially the case on August 25 when Venus trines Pluto at 4 Virgo/Capricorn. I believe that this should be a good one for the world’s stock markets in general. Anyway, lucky YOU if you have something very important in your natal chart at 4 degrees of the earthy signs or in Scorpio at that degree.

August 25: Mars square Saturn at 14 Cancer/Libra.

Okay, so August 25th will not be perfect for everyone; what day is? When charging your natal map, this aspect will give conflicts at home, especially between adolescents (or people who act the part) and their parents. Power clashes in general are possible.

August 26: Mercury goes Direct at 10:04 pm at 18.42 Leo.

At last! Better to make travel and other important plans for the future when the “Little Herm” is direct. Placements in your chart at 18-19 degrees of the fiery signs are stimulated to move into activity.

August 29: New Moon at 5.27 Virgo at 03:05 am trine Pluto at 4.58 Capricorn.

The fortunate among us have 4 to 6 degrees of the earthy signs (especially Taurus) prominent in our charts. The indications are that some benefit in terms of finances and/or career (yes, even during these times!) is on its way during the next 28 days. Stock markets should be up today, especially as this New Moon coincides with a direct Mercury.

August 30: Jupiter turns retrograde at 10.21 Taurus and Venus trines Jupiter at 10 Virgo/Taurus.

Jupiter now prepares to transit and then cross again over the first 10 degrees of the Celestial Bull. It will do this from today until the middle of March 2012. This is called a “station” in astrological jargon. Jupiter entered this station on June 5 of this year. Those of us with important positions in these first 10 degrees (decanate) of Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn and in a somewhat lesser sense, these degrees of Pisces and Cancer, have the opportunities for increased abundance coming from the house positions where these transits fall in your natal charts. Note: I have to be this general as it is obviously impossible to be more specific if the actual chart is not seen by the astrologer. But I would prefer to be general and correct than invent something specific that is wrong.

September 1-4: Sun trine Jupiter.

Although not in exact trine until September 3rd when the conjunction takes place at 10 degrees Virgo/Taurus, these two bodies are in close alignment during the first four days of the month. Considering the New Moon trine to Pluto on the 29th of August, this positive Sun/Jupiter contact makes me feel that there may be some bright financial notes on the world scene that just may give everyone some hope and a breather. One thing is for sure, if you have the Sun, Moon, Ascendant, ruler of your chart, MC or some other major point from 5 to 11 degrees of the earthy triplicity, you may just be “counting your lucky stars” these days.

September 7 and 8: Mercury opposes Neptune.

Definitely, do not drink and drive! Minds get hazy and communications blur when these two bodies are opposite. False information full of maya may come out through the media—nothing new in this, but these days are especially prone to media trash.

September 8: Mercury enters Virgo at 06:00 am.

Mercury is very happy to be in its own sign where he emphasizes solutions through synthesis.

September 11: Mercury trine Pluto at 4.53 Virgo/Capricorn.

This is a very good day for financial investigations and for uncovering hidden information. Such information benefits people with strong placements at 4-5 of the earthy signs, especially Taurus.

September 12: Full Moon at 19.17 Pisces at 09:28 am.

The collective challenge is to blend the real with the ideal in order to come up with solutions to both practical and more romantic issues.

September 14: Mercury trines Jupiter at 9 Virgo/Taurus.

Should you be so inclined, opening up a book about practical “how-to” solutions can be helpful. International finances may make headline news. Eight to 10 degrees of Capricorn/Cancer prominent in the natal chart are especially benefitted.

September 15: Venus enters Libra at 02:41 am.

The urge to build alliances and find solutions in partnerships will be strongly on almost everyone’s agenda through the 8th of October. Venus is very happy to be in one of her home signs. If you have any planets in the Scales, look for some blessings to come your way in terms of these positions.

September 16: Pluto turns direct at 04.53 Capricorn.

September 17: Venus opposes Uranus at 3 Libra/Aries.

A previous lover or ex-spouse suddenly knocks at your door? Quite the possibility if these degrees relate to your natal chart. For the world in general, it will be especially difficult to reach peaceful accords among rival political factions today. This is definitely not a good day for marriage ceremonies!

September 18: Venus square Pluto at 4 Libra/Capricorn.

This may not be the best day for the world’s financial markets nor for you personally should these degree points affect the “money houses” in your chart and/or their planetary rulers.

September 19-22: Mars enters Leo on the 19th at 01:52 am.

Mars enjoys being in the fiery signs (especially Aries) where he can be assertive and courageous. Any planets or positions you may have in Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius will be stimulated into action during the transit of Mars through the Celestial Lion (now through November 10th); check your ephemeris for degree exactitudes. Mars gradually makes his way through the first two degrees of Leo until September 22 when trine Uranus. Mars trine Uranus is especially powerful at this time as the latter is in Aries which Mars rules. The urge for social actions of a reformist nature will be strongly impulsed. Should the first three degrees of any of the fiery signs be prominent in your horoscope, you will definitely want to move forward into some new activity relative to that position. Thus, if let us say you had Jupiter at 2 degrees of Sagittarius, Mars trine Uranus would kick-start you into some form of educational adventure or certainly stimulate your urge to travel and explore life.
