Please note: The comments that are made about all transit-to-transit aspects are by their very nature, generalized in scope. Nevertheless, they do give a “tone” and “resonance” to the days in question as their vibrations carry out into the collective and signify definite orientations towards events. If the degrees of these transits touch important placements in your own chart by a degree or so (especially when applying), then one can interpret what is being said more personally. Even then, the entire horoscope should always be examined.

August 22: The Sun enters Virgo at 07:03pm.

August 23: Mercury and Venus oppose Uranus at 21.29 Virgo/Pisces. This is not the best day for making contracts and agreements, especially relative to group work. Miscommunication is highly likely and financial matters associated with such attempts at unification are also likely to be confusing.

August 28: Mercury square Pluto at 28.32 Virgo/Sagittarius. Yet another day of bickering over things religious and philosophical. I think of all aspects between Mercury and Pluto as relating to the “spy mentality.” This gives the orientation to look deeply beneath the surface of events for truth and meaning. Frequently, especially in the case of the square and conjunction, one can look too deeply. In the words of an Ancient Sage: “Sometimes a banana is just a banana.”

August 29: Mercury enters Libra at 03:50am. So now let us begin to relate about relating! My pet peeve about (the New Age approach to) relationships: We often spend more time processing our relationships than being in them. Which brings us to the second aspect happening on this day: Venus square Pluto at 28.31 Virgo/Sagittarius. A perfect day for processing your relationship (Not!).

Note: It is quite clear that anyone having important placements in their natal chart between 27.30 and 29.00 of the mutable signs has been having quite the visit from Mr. Pluto and as you have already found out (your resistance notwithstanding), nothing in this area of your life will ever be the same again. August 28th and 29th should bring this message clearly home to you.

August 30: Venus enters Libra at 03:42pm.

August 30: New Moon at 7.48 Virgo at 07.59pm.

September 04: Sun conjoins Saturn at 11.55 Virgo. A great time to organize your workspace, prioritize your activities, and bring a more precise definition to what you are doing. This is reinforced and supported by the second aspect happening today: Sun trine Jupiter at 12.33 Virgo. Those of you fortunate enough to have important placements between 11.30 and 13.30 of the earthy signs (and those with these degrees in Taurus should really rejoice!), may find that some important financial and/or career benefits are happening now or will certainly manifest on September 8th and 9th (please see comments below).

September 07: Mars square Jupiter at 12.32 Libra/Capricorn quickly followed 8 hours later on the morning of September 08 by Mercury square Jupiter at exactly the same degrees and then later that evening Mercury conjoins Mars at 13.06 Libra and Venus is square Jupiter on the 9th at also 12.32 Libra/Capricorn. Jupiter turns direct on September 08 at 12.32 Capricorn and then trines Saturn at 12.32 Capricorn/Virgo on September 09. Let’s interpret:

The Mars/Venus square to Jupiter aspects speak about excessive expansion of the desire nature. They often give rise to gluttony in some form. At the very least at this time, they leave logic behind (Mercury’s challenging contacts) and pick up on lust, be it lust for a person, object, or ideal. Mercury conjunct Mars speaks about tensions that arise when a decision to act has to be made but such a decision is reliant on the goodwill or at least the compliance of another person. This may or may not be forthcoming. At the very least we have the urge to act within a field of pause or compromise—not very pretty. Venus as the ruler of the Mercury/Mars conjunction is also square Jupiter adding the choice for sensuality over sensibility.

The aspect between Jupiter and Saturn remains in effect for the entire month of September. Thus the benefits that can come from their positive interaction should extend beyond the complications of the Mercury-Mars-Jupiter contacts on the 7th and 8th of the month. I mentioned earlier that those people with 11.30 to 13.30 of Taurus should rejoice. This is because the Jupiter/Saturn (month-long) trine makes a Grand Trine to their chart while the effects of the Mercury-Mars-Jupiter confusions are minimal.

Look for the Jupiter/Saturn trine to bring financial and career benefits to those personally and positively affected by this aspect. In general, it is a good period for economic conferences and the attempt to sort out some of the incredible difficulties in the financial markets and their repercussions in our daily life on this planet. It is an excellent aspect (and do remember that it does last for the whole month of September), for long term financial and career planning.

One other factor that puts September 8th and 9th “on the map” is that Pluto turns direct on the 9th at 00.47am at 28.30 Sagittarius. It is now firmly on its way into Capricorn where it enters on November 27, 2008 and does not leave this sign entirely until November 19, 2024. So buckle-up my Cardinal sign friends, it’s going to be a long and often bumpy ride—but by the end of it, you just might have a brand new vehicle to drive.

September 12: Venus and Mars conjoin at 15.17 Libra. A perfect time to “be” in your relationship. Do something romantic and sensual. Even if this degree does not fall into your horoscope in any personal way, take advantage of the collective energies and enjoy yourselves. The Moon will be in Aquarius today, so it is a perfect time for the two of you to be out with your friends or if there is just “one” of you, organize a group get together with people of like minds and hearts.

September 13: Sun opposed to Uranus at 20.40 Virgo/Pisces. Any aspect involving Uranus points to the urge to do something different, to break with routine, and to release that part of oneself that needs to feel or be freer.

September 15: Mercury conjunct Venus at 18.56 Libra and the Full Moon at 22.54 Pisces/Virgo. This Full Moon is very close to Uranus while the Mercury/Venus contact is occurring simultaneously. There should be a strong urge for like-minded groups of people to gather together. The “tone” of such gatherings can be rebellious, non-conformist, and anti-social. On the other hand, those people of good-will can easily join forces at this time to promote their ideals and share their common path.

September 17: Venus trine Neptune at 22.00 Libra/Aquarius. What a lovely combination of planetary energies! This is a beautiful time to celebrate the arts, share in joyous and uplifting group events, and generally appreciate the other wonderful people in your life.

September 20: Mercury trine Neptune at 21.57 Libra/Aquarius. A great time to communicate kindness and compassion. This is not the best day to make serious decisions, for it is much more idealistic and realistic. Even so, we all need a break from the constant harshness that surrounds so many lives these days. Those of you with important placements at 21-23 of the airy signs may find that such a holiday is yours between the 17th and the 20th of this month. Share the joy!

September 21: Sun square Pluto at 28.32 Virgo/Sagittarius. Well the Sun does not want to leave the purifying energies of Virgo without bidding the “Sun’s shadow” good-by. The light of the dark emerges and with it comes a message of something, yet something more, needing to be transformed.
